The Boston medical examiner still hasnt provided an exact cause and manner of death for Saoirse Kennedy Hill nearly two months after she died at the familys famous Cape Cod compound — amid massive backlogs at the office, The Post has learned.
Kennedy Hill, 22 — granddaughter of the late Robert F. Kennedy — was found dead inside a bedroom from a suspected drug overdose after a long night of partying in Hyannis Port on Aug. 1.
An initial autopsy report for Kennedy Hill showed no signs of trauma to her body but the exact cause and manner of her death are still pending a toxicology report, a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told The Post Tuesday.
“Its still pending,” the unnamed representative told The Post before saying all requests should be sent to Bostons Office of Public Safety.
Earlier this year, the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was found to have massive backlogs that left families waiting months, sometimes more than a year, to learn the details of their loved ones death, according to a February report from Boston 25 News.
