Nine people were shot and wounded in Indianapolis overnight in three separate incidents, with police on the hunt for the shooters — and trying to figure out motives.
Police have not linked the incidents.
In the first shooting, six people ranging in age from teenagers to adults, were shot in downtown Indianapolis, RTV6 in Indianapolis reported.
The shooting took place around 11 p.m., when officers responded to multiple shots fired on Maryland Street, not far from Monument Circle in the heart of the city, the news station said.
All six victims were awake and breathing when cops arrived. None of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.
Investigators said the shooter remains on the loose early Sunday.
The other shootings took place within hours of the downtown incident, according to the news outlet.
