The son of a woman killed on 9/11 who slammed Rep. Ilhan Omar at the annual Ground Zero memorial service over her comments related to the terror attacks said that her remarks “tore my heart apart.”
Nicholas Haros Jr. told Fox News Sean Hannity late Wednesday that he “doesnt remember” where he was when he first heard that Omar described the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks as “some people did something.”
“But,” he said, “It tore my heart apart and it tore my moms heart apart with the thought that such a great loss, the individuals could be so insensitively expressed and that hurt.”
Haros, whose mom, Frances Haros, was killed at the age of 76 while working in the south tower of the Twin Towers as a receptionist on 9/11, blasted the Democratic Minnesota congresswoman for her comments earlier Wednesday after reading the names of the dead at the solemn ceremony.
“Madam, objectively speaking, we know who and what was done. There is no uncertainty about that. Why your confusion?” Haros, donning a shirt with Omars infamous words emblazoned on it, said.
“On that day, 19 Islamic terrorist members of al Qaeda killed over 3,000 people and caused billions of dollars in economic damage. Is that clear,” said Haros during the televised ceremony.
Omar made the notorious comment last March during a banquet held by the Council on American-Islamic Relations in California.
