The judge who handled the controversial rape case of Brock Turner has been hired as a tennis coach at a California high school, a report said.
Aaron Persky — who was recalled from his position at Santa Clara County Superior Court after public outrage over Turners sentencing — has begun the school season as the coach of Lynbrook High Schools junior varsity girls tennis team, according to San Franciscos KPIX-TV.
A spokesperson for the high school district said that the school held a meeting with parents to discuss Perskys hiring
“He was a highly qualified applicant, having attended several tennis coaching clinics for youth and holds a high rating from the United States Tennis Association,” the spokesperson, Rachel Zlotziver, said in a statement.
“Our focus remains on ensuring that our students have the best possible educational experience–both academically and athletically.”
