A teenage violin prodigy was found dead of an apparent drug overdose in her familys London mansion on Thursday, a report said.
Katya Tsukanova, 17, a leading musician in the UK, died of an apparent overdose from a cocaine and ketamine drug cocktail — just days after performing at the Royal Opera House in the city, the Telegraph reported.
“She was such a smart girl, and she made one bad choice. What can we parents do?” Katyas father, Igor Tsukanova, told the newspaper. “The children will do what they want anyway, and they never tell you the truth.”
Katya, who gave her first violin performance at the age of 5, traveled the world playing music, performing at Carnegie Hall and in Russia, Japan and Germany, according to the Telegraph.
She was also awarded the best young musician award at the Suoni dal Golfo Music Festival in Lerici, Italy, the newspaper reported.
