A Miami sex fetish club owner was convicted of murder after being seen on video dumping the body of his former roommate, whom he had strangled because she moved out, according to a report.
A jury deliberated for only an hour Wednesday before convicting Luis Moya, 52, of murdering Ana Rosa Moreno, 21, a car dealership worker whom he had met on Craigslist, the Miami Herald reported.
Moya ran the Hammer & Nails club in Wynwood, a “dungeon” that featured electric-shock equipment, cages and even a coffin.
He touted the studio in a 2016 profile in the Miami New Times as a safe space for those who enjoy “BDSM, or bondage and sadomasochism.
“People think BDSM has to give someone pain all the time, but it has nothing to do with that,” Moya, who moved to South Florida from England in 2014, told the news outlet.
“The majority of BDSM is about having control over someones feelings and beliefs and making them feel awesome. Were humans; sex is a part of every humans lifestyle,” he added.
Jurors were not allowed to know about his work at Hammer & Nails.
Moya had lied to Moreno, telling her he was 37 years old and a rich Brazilian businessman.
Her body was discovered dumped on a road on Dec. 15, 2018. At first, investigators believed she had overdosed on drugs, but an autopsy revealed she had been strangled.
Moya told detectives that she returned to his home that night and demanded money before asking him to drop her off in the citys The Roads neighborhood, where she got into someone
