Andy Ruiz Jr doesnt even look like a fighter, but you dont need to be cut out of marble to be a good fighter.

Hes only lost once and hes got fast hands, but Id be very, very surprised if Anthony Joshua was to get beaten by him. Ruiz is a rated fighter and to be fair to Joshua and Eddie Hearn, what else could they do? They lost their main event. Ive been in that position as a promoter and its a pain the backside. Whether a Mexican fighting a Brit in New York will do big business, I dont know, but they had their hands tied.

AJ has been talking a big game this week, saying Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder have fought cab drivers and binmen. Really? Joshua won the IBF world title against the worst world champion of all time, Charles Martin. That was a gift from Tyson, when he vacated the belts.

So you know, glass houses and all that. Tyson fought Derek Chisora at his peak and Dillian Whyte twice fought him and there was nothing in those fights. Tyson has fought the best at their best. Klitschko was the undisputed, No.1 heavyweight in the world when he beat him. Compare that to now, when no one can agree who is the best heavyweight in the world right now.

Joshua will feel this is a pivotal moment, but I cant imagine hes happy with fighting Ruiz Jr. Hes got to sell a show, though, so hes firing shots at Wilder and Tyson. Hell have realised the game has changed. Joshua captured the British public, fighting at Wembley, but now hes got to crack America with Wilder and Fury as popular as he is. Hes not in the driving seat anymore. All I know is more people will watch Tysons fight in Las Vegas than Joshuas fight in New York.

I cant say all three heavyweights – Wilder, Joshua and Fury – will fight each other in the next 18 months. I really do believe Tyson and Wilder will go again next year. Im convinced that rematch will happen. I speak to Shelly Finkel regularly. Wilder will fight Luis Ortiz next and weve known about that for a while. Even if we wanted to do a rematch with Tyson at the end of the year, Wilders deal with Showtime is to fight Ortiz next.
