A teacher jailed for having sex with three students promised she would never do it again in hopes for an early release.

Brianne Altice, 39, was given a 2 to 30 year prison sentence in July 2015 for sexually abusing three teenage students at Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah.

She even continued a sexual relationship with one of the students when she was out on bail following her arrest.

Altice spoke at a parole hearing Tuesday and claimed jail has helped her grow into a person who would never repeat her mistakes, Deseret News reported.

She said that when she committed the abuse, she was constantly in need of external validation and put herself in risky situations.

Altice gave an example and said that when she first received compliments from students in class, she should have reported it to school administrators immediately.

Im accountable for this. I did this. And with that knowledge comes growth, she told Utah Pardon and Parole Board member, Angela Micklos, who led the hearing.

I apologize for the role I was supposed to play in their life and I know I didnt. Now its part of their history they cant erase.

She was previously denied early release at a parole hearing in 2017. Tuesday was her second attempt at freedom.

As the hearing began, she was given a letter submitted by one of her victims. She read it to herself, nodded, but did not respond, claiming she wanted to give him closure by letting him have the final word.

I dont want to justify, I dont want to undermine any of his dealings or his experience. I think he has a right to state all this very eloquently, she said.
