Jose Mourinho hit out at VAR for ignoring an obvious red card for Mohamed Salah against Porto on Tuesday night.

Liverpool beat Porto 2-0 at Anfield in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final, but Salah was lucky to avoid a red card.

A high tackle in the final ten minutes of the match saw Salah plant his studs into the leg of Danilo, but VAR did not review the decision.

Salah was fortunate not to cause serious injury to Danilo and Mourinho admitted the Liverpool forward should have been given his marching orders.

But you also have the VAR ignoring things that you dont even need a replay. Its Salah, Mourinho told Russia Today.

Mourinho signed Salah for Chelsea in 2014, but the Egyptian failed to make the grade at Stamford Bridge.
