Hugo Lloris has retained his place in Spurs starting XI for the inaugural game at their new stadium against Crystal Palace despite his costly error during the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

Calls for the club captain to be dropped have been growing louder, but Mauricio Pochettino has demonstrated his faith in the World Cup winners abilities but keeping him in the side ahead of Paulo Gazzaniga.

Pochettino has made two changes to his starting line-up elsewhere with Ben Davies replacing Davinson Sanchez in a back three and Heung-Min Son coming in for the goalscorer at Anfield, Lucas Moura up front.

Spurs started out with a back three against Liverpool but following a difficult first half, Pochettino successfully altered his teams shape to a back four which resulted in a much-improved display.

Davies inclusion suggests that another in-game change could be on the cards with the Welshman having impressed as a left-sided centre back for Wales as well as at left-back.
