Teacher, 33, told detectives “Im hooking up with a 14 year-old”

A teacher accused of sexually abusing a schoolboy was secretly recorded telling detectives Look at me, Im hooking up with a 14 year-old, a court heard.

Justine Karen Nelson, 33, is said to have blurted out the admission while being driven from Tenaya Middle School in Merced, California, where she worked to a jail in 2016.

She reportedly belived cops had finished formally questioning her and spoke of her alleged crime after being told by Detective Derek Avila that she deserved better.

The recording, played to jurors at Nelsons trial Tuesday, also saw Nelson, who is married, speak of her fears of going to jail and being a felon, as well as her unhappy home life.

According to The Fresno Bee, Nelson even appeared relieved at being caught, and reportedly said: I knew this day was coming.

Nelson reportedly appeared shocked, broke down in tears and denied any impropriety when first confronted by police about the allegations against her.
