Ronaldinho has told Paul Pogba he must respect and learn from Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

Pogba has had a strained relationship with Mourinho since he returned to the club in 2016 in a club-record move from Juventus.

Mourinho has shown a willingness to drop Pogba from his starting XI this season and there have been reports suggesting he will seek a summer move at the end of the season.

But Brazil legend Ronaldinho insists Pogba can develop as a player under Mourinhos watch and says the French midfielder must respect his managers decisions.

He knows the substitutes bench, like me at Paris Saint-Germain with [former coach Luis] Fernandez. It is not the same, when Mourinho tells you that youre on the bench you have to respect that, the other guy, a little less, he said.

I think Paul really has a lot to learn from Mourinho, who is one of the best coaches in the world. A coach who has won so many titles should be respected. In my case, it was the opposite.

He is already in a big club and he has everything needed to make history, whether it is this club or another he has to be where he feels happiest.

Ronaldinho also heaped praise on Pogbas ability, insisting he has the potential to win the illustrious Ballon dOr award – Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have shared the last ten.

He can win the Ballon dOr, without a doubt, Ronaldinho, who won the award in 2005, told Canal+.

I see Pogba as a friend, I dont see myself as his idol. He is young, talented and he has the ability to play anywhere, he can play in a free role, defensive, as a runner or attacking.

He has the characteristics of a player who can fill any position, he can make history.

Pogba, meanwhile, has sought to play down speculation over his Manchester United future by saying transfers are not in his head.

I do not have any problem with Mourinho, the £90m signing said to French TV. I do not think he has either.

Hes the coach, hes going to make choices and I, as a player, I accept him. That is all.
