Crystal Palace ace Jason Puncheon has been charged with assault and possesing a weapon after a row outside a nightclub in Surrey.
The 31-year-old Premier League midfielder was arrested and spent the night in the cells following a bust-up outside Mishiko in Reigate in the early hours of Sunday and he has now been charged.
A Surrey Police spokesman said: ‘A man has been charged in connection with an incident in Church Street, Reigate, at 2.20am on Sunday.
‘Officers attended the area following a report of a fight.
‘Jason Puncheon, 31, of Kingswood, has been charged with a Section 4 public order offence – causing fear or provocation of violence, possession of an offensive weapon and common assault.
‘He has been released on bail to appear at Guildford Magistrates Court in January.’
The former Southampton ace has made nine appearances in the Premier League this season, but wasn’t involved in Crystal Palace’s 3-0 win over Leicester on Saturday having not featured since a 2-2 draw against Everton on November 18.
